Itinerary

Picture ancient glaciers, a vast icefield, and the world that opens up beneath those snow-dusted Canadian peaks. Over 11 days you'll travel through the Canadian Rockies and across into Montana's Glacier National Park, with big scenery, local history, wildlife and a string of memorable rides along the way. You'll roll through the mountains aboard a vintage Red Jammer, climb onto a glacier in a massive ice explorer, and drift out on a glass-walled boat, with an optional flightseeing helicopter if you'd like to add it. Watch for wide skies, bighorn sheep and bears, and let the landscape shift from old gold rush country to the turquoise lakes of Banff and Jasper National Parks. Good eating comes with it: a tender filet of Alberta beef and a slice of homemade huckleberry pie are the place to start. No trip through the Canadian West is complete without the Calgary Stampede, billed as the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth." Pull on your boots and your 10-gallon hat for a festival that marks more than a hundred years of cowboy culture, western heritage and Indigenous traditions. You'll walk through the First Nations village, cheer on world-class rodeo riders, and take in everything from bucking broncos to live music and local food. As the world's largest rodeo and one of Canada's biggest festivals, it's a fitting way to close out your time in the Rockies. You'll also choose from a selection of included excursions in Banff, so you can shape that day around what interests you most.
-
Your Canadian Rockies trip begins in Calgary tonight. At 6:00 p.m. you'll gather with your tour director and fellow travellers over a welcome drink. It's a relaxed way to settle in and meet the group before the journey really gets going in the morning.
